Learn to Embroider Series!
Expand your knowledge of embroidery stitches! Suitable for beginners or for anyone who would like to deepen and expand their repertory of embroidery stitches. Come to one class, to several, or even to all of them! $40 per session, includes all materials & tools
Class dates/times: The following Saturdays from 10am to 12pm:
Nov 8th: Outline stitches: running stitch, stem stitch, whipped stitches and couching - create shapes, lettering, and colorful textures and combine threads with these easy-to-work but versatile stitches.
Nov 22nd: Chain stitch and variations: perhaps the most widely used family of stitches that is also considered the most durable, as well as the one with the most variations.
Dec 6th: Herringbone & other crossed stitches: using simple geometry and the shapes of the stitches to create designs.
Dec 13th: Satin stitch and its variations: how to make your embroidery look the same on the front and the back, alternatively - how to save most of your thread for the front of the embroidery
Jan 17th: Textured filling stitches: woven, tied, star-shaped, chain & knot stitches to create interesting texture inside large motifs.
Jan 31st: Decorative edges and joining stitches: how to finish edges or hand-sew garments and household textiles with embroidery stitches.
